Title: On Hahn-Banach extension theorem in Banach spaces

Abstract: On Hahn-Banach theorem in Banach spaces. Abstract: A bounded linear functional on a subspace has an extension to the whole space that preserves the norm, is a well-known fact. In the literature on Banach spaces, several investigations concerning this extension property have been explored in recent years. Robert Phelps was the first who initiated the investigations on the Uniqueness of Hahn-Banach extension, which is referred to as property (U). In this talk I will focus on operator version of Hahn-Banach extension and also the cases when a Banach space can be embedded into a space of type C(K) so that the corresponding subspace has property (U) in C(K). It is well-known that operator version of Hahn-Banach theorem is not true in general. This motivates to study Pλ spaces, λ ≥ 1. I will discuss some new characterizations of Pλ spaces in terms of extensions of compact linear operators.
