Title: Using dynamical systems modeling to inform public health policies for infectious diseases
Abstract: Dr. Ndeffo will be talking about the importance of dynamical systems modeling to inform global health decision making. His talk will focus on schistosomiasis modeling and the use of schistosomiasis control measures to mitigate the spread of HIV in rural Sub-Saharan Africa. More specifically, Dr. Ndeffo will discuss his work on developing a new modeling framework to address the limitations of the traditional and widely used MacDonald Mean Worm Burden model for studying the spread and control of schistosomiasis in Africa.
