Lab Instructions and Assignments

Instructions

Maplets for Calculus:

M4C assignments are done in lab and/or at home to prepare for the quiz in recitation the following week.:

To access the Maplets for Calculus:

  • Go to the Math Department MATH 151 Home Page and click on the Maplets link or go directly to http://m4c.math.tamu.edu/.
  • Once there, click on the TAMU link at the top-right and log in using your NetID and password.
  • Expand the desired section. Click on the name of the desired Maplet.
  • The first Maplet will take longer to open because it needs to start the Java engine.

The Maplets require Maple on the client machine:

  1. Students can purchase Maple 17 from https://software.tamu.edu/ for $55.
  2. Students can access the M4C at any TAMU Open Access Lab.
  3. Students can remotely log into the TAMU Virtual Open Access Lab at https://voal.tamu.edu/ and access the M4C from there.
  4. Students can access the M4C at the Math Department Calclabs.
  5. Students can remotely log into the Math Department Calclabs using the NoMachine NX Client which can be downloaded at http://www.nomachine.com/download.php. Here is an Installation Video: Flash     M4V (for Ipod/Iphone).

    2. FileZilla:    Flash     M4V for Ipod/Iphone
    3. Printing Your Work:    Flash     M4V for Ipod/Iphone
    4. Over Quota:    Flash     M4V for Ipod/Iphone

    Matlab Assignments:

    • are started during your computer lab on week shown below and completed at home.
    • are due at the BEGINNING of your computer lab on week after that shown below.
    • Have your team's work STAPLED IN ADVANCE. The cover sheet on the front should have the names of all members of your team along with your section number. Remember that each group member should initial the problem(s) he or she worked on as well.
