The National Science Foundation has awarded a two-year Mathematical Sciences University-Industry Postdoctoral Research Fellowship for research in "Algebraic Geometry and Computational Algebraic Geometry for Image Database Indexing, Image Recognition, and Computer Vision" to Texas A&M University with the support of the David Sarnoff Research Center in Princeton, New Jersey.
We are seeking applicants for this fellowship who are broadly trained in algebraic geometry, computational algebraic geometry, geometric computation, or possibly differential geometry, and who have considerable computational expertise. The fellow will conduct research in the areas of algebraic geometry and computational algebraic geometry on problems motivated by questions in image recognition, image database indexing and computer vision as part of an ongoing joint academic/industry research effort. It is expected that the fellow will spend approximately one year at Texas A&M and one year in Princeton at the David Sarnoff Research Center.
Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements set out in the NSF program guidelines, and must also meet the application requirements listed here . Possible start dates are 9/1/95, 1/15/96, 6/1/96, or 9/1/96. We will continue to take applications until the position is filled.
Applications and inquiries (for this Postdoctoral position only) should be directed to:
