Matthew Hielsberg is a Research Specialist V working for the Institute for Scientific Computation and the Mathematics Department at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. He primarily supports faculty research initiatives through the development of custom software tools, applications and APIs. Additionally he mentors lab students and educates them and other lab affiliates in the use good programming practices, to write reusable code and to never reinvent the wheel. He has made contributions to and developed a variety of different software applications, typically for desktops, but has also developed packages for clusters and mobile platforms. Most of his work is written in C++ and/or Matlab, but he is proficient in a variety of programming languages and API's.
