About TAGS

The Texas Algebraic Geometry Symposium is a joint seminar of Rice University, Texas A&M University, and the University of Texas at Austin. This conference aims to bring to a regional audience the latest developments in Algebraic Geometry, interpreted in its broadest sense.

All are welcome to participate; limited funding is available. There are no registration fees, and all participants are required to register, regardless of whether they apply for support. Graduate students, junior faculty, women, minorities and persons with disabilities are especially encouraged to participate and apply for funding. TAGS is generously supported by NSF grant DMS-1203175, and the Texas A&M Mathematics Department.

In 2012, TAGS is held jointly with two other activities: The 2012 Mathematics Department Maxson Lectures, to be given by Joe Harris (Harvard), and the IMA Sponsored Workshop on Questions in Geometry arising in the Sciences, organized by Joe Harris and J.M. Landsberg.

The slides for the Maxson Lectures can be found here.
