Math 18.099: A Simple Introduction to Polynomial Equations

January 14th-30th, 1997

Tu 12:00-13:30, WTh 12:00-12:55, Room 2-132

Want to learn something useful and interdisciplinary that's not covered in any other class? Then learn about 2 x 2 systems of polynomial equations! We'll see how to count the number of solutions of these kinds of equations; and why this is useful in robot motion planning, computer graphics, and algebraic geometry.
