2017-2018 Expectations and Application Link
Note: Applications to 1) 8th Grade Mathematics and Algebra 1 & 2) Algebra and Precalculus will be on a wait list. Application to 3) Dual Credit Mathematics (for anyone expecting to teach dual credit mathematics in 2017-2018) is not full.
Some comments from participants in the face-to-face sessions for the Dual Credit group June 12-15:
"I enjoyed hearing Dr. Barroso present her ideas on goal-setting. Even though I had participated in this activity last year, I discovered that my definition and actual goal writing was stronger and more focused than it was the previous year."
"Dr. Allen discussed the differences between high school and college and the struggles kids have when getting to college. I enjoyed listening to his insight and have been thinking about how I can address those things in my classroom."
"...I believe the bouncing ball activity will be very interesting for the students. The questioning techniques Dr. Nite used for walking activity would be really helpful to lead the students to curiosity beforehand and they will be trying to see how each differentiation will affect the graphs."
"...the afternoon was spent playing with the circuit boards. I worked with push buttons, the Piezo buzzer/sound, photo resistor, and spinning a motor...I am really excited about this project in order to let my students demonstrate their creative side."
"I think the last day was the combination of all three days we had. It was really fun and productive, and included almost everything from each day...I can easily say that I really enjoyed every single minute I had in this PD and tried to value everything I experienced...."
Face-to-face for the other groups is coming soon. We are so excited for it!
