Math 131: Calculus I

 Text: J. Stewart, Calculus, Early Transcendentals, Fourth Edition, Brooks/Cole, 1999.
 Calculator: TI-86 will be used, (the TI-85 will probably suffice).
Grading     There will be two in-term exams (each worth 20% toward your final grade), an exam testing dexterity in taking derivatives (15%), and a final exam (25%). An additional 20% will come from homework and attendance, as determined by your instructor. The scale is at right.
A: 90--100   C:  70--75
AB:   85--90  CD:  65--70
B:   80--85  D:  60--65
BC:   75--80  F:  < 60
