Title: Coarse geometry and quantization
Abstract: I will give an overview of some recent joint work with Peter Hochs and Mathai Varghese at the University of Adelaide on the formulation of a spin-c quantization map in the language of coarse geometry. The quantization map we define is a maximal equivariant analogue of the localized index map of John Roe. The advantage of working in the maximal setting is that it allows one to compose the quantization map with the reduction map of Mathai-Zhang. As a consequence, I will state a version of Guillemin and Sternberg’s quantization commutes with reduction principle for equivariant spin-c Callias-type operators.
