Description:

Title: Equations and Syzygies of Projective Variety Defined by Parametrizations

Abstract: In real life, a lot of varieties we are interested in are given by explicit parametrizations. In many cases, it is very useful, although very difficult, to compute the equations and syzygies of these varieties explicitly. I will discuss some examples that this could be done and indicate a powerful but limited technique of how to compute them.
