The Geometry of an Algebraic Take on Geometric Series
Abstract
You will solve a problem found in an engineering calculus textbook (Stewart) asking for the total area of an infinite batch of circles, fitting nested into the corners of a triangle. The solution uses neither calculus nor infinite series. (The title is a bit of a tongue twister but the intent is to indicate that geometry and algebra are fairly heavily intertwined.)
