Title: Cocycles of Ergodic Hyperfinite Equivalence Relations

Abstract: I will discuss a strengthening of Dye's Theorem first proved by Golodets and Sinel'shchikov in their paper "Classification and Structure of Cocycles of Amenable Ergodic Equivalence Relations," and also studied in a paper of Danilenko, e.g., "Quasinormal Subrelations of Ergodic Equivalence Relations." The relevant theorem in each paper is [G-S Lemma 1.12] and [D Theorem 1.9].

Several Complex Variables Seminar

Time: 4:00PM - 5:00PM

Location: BLOC 220

Speaker: Nordine Mir, Texas A&M University - Qatar

Title: Convergence and divergence of formal CR mappings

Abstract: I will discuss recent joint results with B. Lamel regarding the convergence and divergence of formal holomorphic maps between real-analytic CR submanifolds in complex spaces of possibly different dimension. Our results resolve in particular a long standing open question in the subject and recover all known previous existing ones. We will also discuss the new approach developed in order to understand the convergence/divergence properties of such maps.
